I have a friend who is dying of cancer. He’s been dying of it for four years now. He was “supposed” to die sometime this year but so far things are good – nothing’s happening.
Like you, I have not experienced a close death…but I do know that death can take a person long before they stop living if you know what I mean. My friend has lived in a sort of immobilization for the past four years waiting to die. Only now is he starting to climb out of it and live again.
Other people’s death can infect our own lives and cause us to slip into a coma of fear and hopelessness. Lost in the past or a hoped for future.
The only antidote I have found is to live now…and only now. Blessings.
